Winter Wonderland

ICM students experienced the fun and beauty of winter, most for the very first time, during ICM’s trip to FortWhyte Alive last weekend!

FortWhyte Alive, the winter wonderland just outside Winnipeg, features frozen lakes, forest trails, a herd of bison, and – probably most popular of all – a toboggan run.

Students competed in groups during a winter scavenger hunt and then warmed up over a bonfire complete with s’mores , a sweet Canadian treat make with marshmallows roasted over the fire and sandwiched between chocolate and graham crackers.

While it was one of the coldest days Winnipeg experienced this January, students had nothing but positive things to say about the trip and winter in Winnipeg. Check out the Winnipeg Sun’s article featuring ICM student Zobia Aamir and CTV Winnipeg’s clip of ICM student Seinan Khan and his friends.

While the days are getting longer and spring is in sight, there are still amazing winter adventures to be had! Western Canada’s largest winter festival, Festival du Voyageur, starts next week right here in Winnipeg. Heho!
